Cindy Kempton | Owner

Cindy is the founder of Life and Soul Health and Fitness Clubs and GOTSOUL Retreats. With over 35 years in the health and wellness industry, she has worked internationally before returning to Western Australia to establish her own business, opening the first Life and Soul club in Karratha in 2006.

Cindy, alongside her husband Peter, has since expanded the brand across Australia, introduced F45 franchises, and launched The Yard Gym. In 2023, they revitalised The Mayfair Theatre in East Fremantle as ‘Life and Soul At The Mayfair’, recognising a niche in the boutique wellness market. Cindy is committed to all forms of fitness and wellness, you can find her training in all areas at The Mayfair. Although her life has been committed to fitness and health, Cindy’s greatest achievements are her two daughters, Mollie and Tilly, who also love to get amongst the good vibes at Life and Soul.

Peter Athanitis | Owner

Peter began his career in the corporate sector, working in operations and global sales for CSR and the Mars Group. He joined Cindy in Karratha in 2008, becoming an essential part of the Life and Soul team. Together, they expanded the brand to Derby, Broome, and Port Hedland, quickly establishing a strong presence in the region.

Peter handles the behind-the-scenes aspects of the business, managing legal matters, occupational health and safety, leases, and maintenance. You’ll also find him in reception, doing what he does best: serving our members with a laugh, discussing his beloved Collingwood Pies, or his favourite red wine. Peter enjoys a good Pilates session followed by some time in the Wellness space, making good use of the sauna and ice bath to help boost his mental health, which keeps him at the top of his game.

Jackson Keep | Partner and General Manager

Jacko didn’t start out in fitness,  he was forging a different path in the oil and gas  industry in WA’s North West when he sought a more fulfilling career in health and fitness.

As the club Manager at Life and Soul Karratha, he fostered a welcoming community and strong culture among staff and members, Jacko made sure everyone felt welcome. Recently, Jacko became business partners with Cindy and Peter to bring Life and Soul At The Mayfair to life.

Now relocated to Perth, Jacko serves as General Manager and Partner of Life and Soul at The Mayfair, continuing his mission to build a vibrant community and culture. He is actively involved in the club, focusing on weight training and maintaining a solid recovery routine in the wellness space. He also loves The Yard Gym, and you might even catch him pounding the pavements at our Run Club.

Jody Cunninghame | Broome

Jody is the powerhouse behind our busiest club in the North West. As Broome Club Manager, she’s constantly spinning a million plates to make sure everything runs seamlessly — and somehow, she always does it with a smile. Her energy, positivity, and dedication keep the Broome community moving, motivated, and feeling right at home every time they walk through the doors.

Siobhan Meechan | Karratha

Straight from Scotland to the North West, Siobhan brings endless enthusiasm, a love for fitness, and a big dose of fun to our Karratha club. She’s always up for a giggle and you’ll often spot her creating TikTok-worthy IG posts that capture the energy of our community. Say hi when you see her on the gym floor – she’s always happy to help with any enquiries and loves supporting members on their fitness journey.

Grace Colarusso  | Port Hedland

Grace is passionate about helping people feel their best and creating a club environment where everyone feels welcome. With a strong focus on community, connection and member experience, she is dedicated to supporting members at every stage of their fitness journey. Grace believes great clubs are built on genuine relationships and shared goals, and she loves seeing people grow in confidence both inside and outside the gym.

Aidan Burns | Derby

Aidan is our main man in Derby, leading our smallest but mightiest club in the North West. You’ll usually find him on reception during the week, ready to help with anything you need — he’s your go-to for all things Derby. Alongside running Life & Soul, Aidan is also a swimming coach and is currently completing his Cert III in Fitness. Be sure to say hi when you’re in the club — he’s always up for a chat and ready to support your fitness journey.

The Team Behind the Scenes

Emma Frunks | Chief Financial Officer

Emma started her journey with Life and Soul on reception in Broome, 15 years ago.  From there, she took on the roles of Marketing Manager and Accounts Manager, before following her passion into finance – today, we’re proud to have her as our Chief Finance Officer. With Emma’s integrity, professionalism, and incredible attention to detail, she has played a huge role in shaping who we are today, both as a company and in the communities we serve. The huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes in our business is unseen to everyone and Emma plays a vital role in keeping the ‘engine room’ turning. Emma overseas all the financial activities of the entire company including financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting and record keeping.  She is committed to leading the financial area with integrity and accountability.

Katie McAullay | Marketing Manager

Katie heads up marketing at Life & Soul – which basically means if you’ve seen it, read it, worn it or clicked on it… she’s probably had something to do with it.

After 25+ years in corporate roles across the UK, Europe, the USA and Australia, she now channels that experience into helping Life & Soul grow in a way that still feels personal, community-first and aligned to who we are.

She loves the creative chaos of the marketing hub  where ideas are tested, refined and occasionally rebuilt from scratch. Equal parts creative and analytical, she cares just as much about connection and community as she does about numbers and performance.

Tara Kleszcz | Sales Manager

With over 30 years of experience in sales, Tara brings a wealth of knowledge, energy, and passion to the team. She began her journey with Life and Soul in 2009, working in Marketing based in Karratha, before moving to Perth and taking time away to raise her children now 15 & 18. In 2020, she returned to the business in a sales role at F45 Leederville, where her drive and expertise quickly stood out. Tara is now the Regional Sales Manager, leading and supporting the sales team across all locations with a focus on growth, connection and results. Outside of work, Tara can usually be found at the beach pretending she’s on holiday, squeezing in a workout, catching up with friends and family – usually over coffee or seeing live music – and making the most of her weekends like a pro.

Tammy Barrett-Lennard | Administration & HR Manager

Tammy has been part of Life & Soul for over 18 years, growing alongside the business and supporting its expansion across regional WA. As Administration and HR Manager, she ensures everything runs smoothly — from compliance and daily operations to creating streamlined systems that support the whole team.

Known for her eye for detail and problem-solving skills, Tammy brings structure and clarity so staff can focus on delivering exceptional member experiences. She is also passionate about supporting youth athletes through Life & Soul’s sponsorships and performance programs, helping young people build confidence, thrive in sport, and chase their goals.

Her long-standing commitment reflects her belief in Life & Soul’s mission: making health and fitness accessible, welcoming, and sustainable for everyone.
