Emma Windle – Port Hedland

A little bit about me:
I am a stay at home mum of 2 on a health & wellness journey to be healthy, happy and energized.

How long I have been training with Life & Soul:
Almost 1 year.

My favourite area of the gym is:
The creche cause I get to drop off the kids and enjoy child free time to exercise.

My favourite exercise is:
Stretching bahah, no maybe squats with the olympic bar.

My favourite meal is:

Home: Chicken breast with peri peri marinade, brown rice & broccoli. Out: Zambreros – pulled pork power bowl with guacamole.

What I love most about training at Life & Soul is:

Friendly atmosphere, Inspirational quotes displayed, well maintained equipment.


Carolyn Pickett – Broome

A little bit about me:
I have lived in the Kimberley for over a decade now and have been involved in education for most of that time.  I am currently enrolled in a PhD program researching early years development in remote communities. I have just celebrated my 74th birthday and feel great.  It must be the time in the gym.

How long I have been training with Life & Soul:
Nearly five years.

My favourite area of the gym is:
My favourite area of the gym is where all the cardio machines are.  Bicycles, rowing machines, pedalos and treadmills provide lots of choice depending on how you are feeling on the day.

My favourite exercise is:
The leg press is where I can push the most weight!

My favourite meal is:
I usually have porridge topped with blueberries and yoghurt.  Weekends I might venture into something more exotic.

Most inspirational person/athlete in my life is:
Cathy Freeman who inspired all of Australia in her athletics career and who I met when she was touring the remote aboriginal communities in the decade following her gold medal win at the 2000 Olympics.  She let all the children wear her gold medals.

What I love most about training at Life & Soul is:
I love the egalitarian spirit.  Everyone is doing their best and nobody judges anyone else.  All shapes and sizes all in the pursuit of a healthy life style.


Carly Clements – Karratha


A little bit about me:
I’m a mum of 2 part-time Bookkeeper. 14 year Karratha local.

How long I have been training with Life & Soul:
5 years.

My favourite area of the gym is:
Weights Training room.

My favourite exercise is:
Squats.

My favourite meal is:
Steak and salad.

Most inspirational personal/athlete in my life is:
My parents are both fab and fit at 70 years. They are inspirational.

What I love most about training at Life & Soul is:
The people. Creche girls are amazing and the rest are so friendly & it’s a very social fun place to be. It’s easy to show up every day.
